INFORMATION ABOUT BRIA’S COVID-19 RESPONSE PLAN

In response to the global pandemic, BRIA Health Services developed a comprehensive strategy to combat the spread of COVID-19 to keep residents and staff safe and healthy.

BRIA continually adapts its infection prevention protocols upon guidance from its COVID-19 task force, which spearheaded by leading infectious disease experts. The BRIA COVID-19 task force advises our clinicians in implementing the most effective procedures and treatments to counteract the spread of coronavirus in BRIA’s 10-facility network across Illinois and Wisconsin. 

The task force provides ongoing analysis of local, state and federal regulations and guidance from the latest research in the field to ensure BRIA is adopting the best methods to control transmission rates.

In addition, BRIA has implemented a three-tiered testing program, including baseline testing for facilities, surveillance testing for staff and residents in facilities with no current COVID-19 cases, and, in cases where COVID-19 is detected, ongoing retesting until no cases are detected.

BRIA has also established COVID-19 isolation units for residents who tested positive or exhibited symptoms staffed by dedicated care teams outfitted with and extensively trained on how to wear personal protective equipmentThe units have usedintensive contact and droplet precautions, and BRIAprocurement personnel continue to ensure sufficient PPE supplies for staff and residents
